Nigerian politician and public commentator, Sam Amadi, has sparked debate after reacting to a photo of the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and other officials welcoming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in London.

The photo, widely shared online, shows Abike Dabiri and other dignitaries shaking hands with the President following his visit to the United Kingdom, where he met King Charles.

Reacting on his official X account on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Sam Amadi argued that no matter who becomes Nigeria’s President in 2027, public officials should not travel abroad to personally receive the President.

According to Amadi, “Can we agree that in 2027 no matter who wins the election, no public official should travel out of the country to receive the President in a foreign land. Let embassy officials and the host do that.”

This comment has sparked discussions about protocol, diplomacy, and the role of Nigerian officials in welcoming leaders abroad. Read_More
