The Obidient Movement National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, has expressed strong confidence in Peter Obi’s popularity and his ability to attract massive support from Nigerians, regardless of the party he runs under in the 2027 presidential election.
In an interview from 16:10 featured on Synfomi TV, Tanko stated that several political parties are actively courting Peter Obi ahead of the next election because they are well aware of the strong support base he commands across the country.
He also addressed the possibility of Peter Obi not securing the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), recalling the former Anambra State governor’s remarks about not being desperate for the presidency.
However, Tanko maintained that whichever platform Peter Obi eventually chooses ahead of 2027, he will draw significant followership from political leaders as well as his core supporters nationwide.
His words: “Like he (Peter Obi) has said, he is not desperate to become the President of Nigeria. He makes his decisions by himself and he will make this decision when the time comes.
“Do you also take your time to do that reverse psychology of thinking? Why are they (the parties) demanding for him (Peter Obi), because he is capable, he has the people, he believes in Nigeria, and he is loved by Nigerians.
“So therefore, if people believe in him this much and they needed him in every of these places that you mentioned, that means that even if it is a bottle Peter Obi decides to reside in, everybody will go there and bust it.” View, More,
