Renowned Nigerian pastor and televangelist, Prophet Joshua Iginla, has once again called for bold, courageous leadership in the country, emphasizing that the current occupant of the presidency is a lion who can only be replaced by someone with equal or greater might.

During a video in his recent church service, Iginla delivered a symbolic and spiritual message regarding Nigeria’s leadership, stressing that anyone aiming to contest for the presidency in the 2027 elections must come with strength and fearlessness.

He stated that the person currently holding power is a lion, and that anyone who wants to remove him from that position must also have the heart of a lion to take the sty.

He made it clear that his message was not politically driven, but one born out of spiritual revelation. As a prophet, he said, he stands on neutral ground and only shares what he sees spiritually. Iginla pointed out that, at the moment, he has not yet seen anyone with the lion-like qualities necessary to challenge the existing leadership effectively.

His statement has generated widespread discussion among political watchers and religious circles. The metaphor of the lion reflects his previous prophetic advice to opposition figures like Peter Obi, where he warned against settling for secondary roles in alliances and encouraged them to fully embrace their leadership destinies.

In a country where religious voices can shape public opinion, Iginla’s message is being interpreted as a challenge to those eyeing leadership positions. One member of the congregation summed up the atmosphere after the service, saying that you don’t dethrone a lion with a lamb.

In his own words, he remarked, “I said last Sunday that the current person sitting on the throne is a lion,” Iginla declared. “And we need somebody who has a lion, if you really want to take the sty.”

I’m a prophet. I’m neither here nor there,” he explained. “I’ll be telling you what I’m seeing.”

The prophet’s message underlines the importance not just of popularity, but of vision, spiritual clarity, and the strength to face established powers head-on.

As Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 general election, Iginla’s prophetic insight may remain a central reference point in the national conversation about who has the capacity to lead the nation forward. He stressed that leadership is spiritual, strategic, and sacrificial, and that anyone hoping to change the nation’s story must first possess the stature required for such a task.
