Eddy Olafeso, former PDP National Chairman in the Southwest, has ridiculed the paradox of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike being simultaneously recognized as a PDP leader while being designated as the political leader of the APC in Rivers State ahead of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking in an interview from 10:58 with TVC, Olafeso questioned the logical coherence of Wike’s dual party leadership positions. “Is it possible that somebody (Wike) will be in two parties at the same time? It is laughable in this country when somebody will be called a PDP leader and at the same time is leading the APC. Isn’t that completely out of whack with cognitive capacity?” he said.
The former regional chairman warned that Nigerians should be concerned about current political developments, particularly judicial pronouncements he characterized as troubling. According to Olafeso, the judiciary’s role in party affairs threatens democratic principles.
He argued that political parties should retain freedom to manage their internal affairs without external interference, arguing that current interventions represent systematic efforts to destroy opposition parties. Olafeso characterized these actions as corrupt attempts to eliminate political competition. See_Moreā¦
