Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and current FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently reacted after a masquerade was spotted among those who converged to welcome the former governor in Ogu community. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that even a spirit joined to welcome him.

Many were left stunned after a masquerade was captured among the mammoth crowd that gathered to welcome the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to Ogu town, an ancient kingdom in the state.

The occasion was a part of the former governor’s tour across the state, with the Ogu community a recipient of the visit on Saturday January 31st 2026.

The incident, which sparked massive public attention, caught the attention of Lere Olayinka, the former governor’s senior special adviser on media who in a recent statement, made a stunning comment regarding the masquerade’s presence.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the outspoken special adviser pointed out that even the spirit joined to welcome the former governor, a testament to his acceptance.

This, came amid the recent political tussle in Rivers State, with the former governor and his successor, Siminalayi Fubara locked in a prolonged battle for dominance and supremacy.

The statements from Lere Olayinka however, indicates the love and trust reposed on the former governor.
