In a recent video from 39:59 delivered during Holy Ghost service in Abuja, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, emphasized the transformative power of praise, recounting past challenges and highlighting God’s faithfulness to the ministry.
Adeboye began by recalling an incident from years ago when a former minister overseeing the Federal Capital Territory ordered the demolition of several RCCG parishes. “Some years ago, one former minister in charge of Abuja pulled down 15 Redeemed churches in Abuja within two weeks,” he said. According to him, the impact went largely unnoticed because of the vastness of the church network. “You know, we didn’t notice because there were many others,” he added.
Shifting to recent events, Adeboye described the overwhelming turnout at last month’s Holy Ghost service in Abuja. “The crowd there will be like a small congress,” he remarked, noting that God’s work in the city had multiplied far beyond what opposition once intended. He encouraged worshippers to acknowledge divine intervention even if reluctant. “Even if you don’t want to praise Him for what He has done, something within you is telling you your time has come,” he declared.
Referencing a Psalm, Adeboye announced prophetic declarations concerning stagnation and promotion. “As far as stagnation is concerned, that is over,” he said. “Your promotion is going to be rapid.” He urged believers to embrace praise as a weapon of breakthrough. “Maybe if you praise Him for just one hour, you might suddenly discover before the end of the year that where you have been stagnant, you’re already moving forward,” he said.
In an unexpected shift, Adeboye told the congregation he would not make an altar call. “I know if you praise Him like you ought to praise Him, He will do something about your life. He will do something about your soul,” he explained.
Encouraging a spontaneous expression of worship, Adeboye instructed attendees to create their own praise moments. “Think of a song of your own. You’ll be singing your own, I’ll be singing my own. When we put it together, we have what they call joyful noise,” he said. He invited the congregation to stand and sing freely, saying, “Don’t wait for me. Don’t wait for the choir. Just begin to sing a song unto the Lord.”
Adeboye assured worshippers that continuous praise would bring divine intervention. “Praise Him and watch your enemies defeat themselves,” he declared. “Praise Him and you discover that the One who made you is already correcting you… that you’ll be able to breathe even far more easily than ever before.” View, More,
