Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the FCT minister and former governor of Rivers State recently reacted after popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi disclosed that negotiations with bandits was the only effective way to pacify them. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the bandits never made demands.

However, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, faulted the comments of Gumi.

According to his statements, he pointed out that Niger Delta militants registered their grievances, made demands which included stopping the pollution of their lands, a valid demand which was met.
