Omoyele Sowore, activist and former presidential candidate, has reacted to a trending video involving Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, which has generated widespread discussion on Nigerian social media platforms.
Sowore spoke during an interview from 2:21 with Symfoni TV on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, while responding to a question on how he would describe the viral footage allegedly showing the lawmaker in an intimate setting with a South African woman described online as a hookup partner.
The interviewer asked, “So, how would you describe the recent trending video of Nigerian lawmaker Senator Adams Oshiomhole, where he is seen as a romantic lover with a South African hookup lady?” In his response, Sowore linked the video to what he described as hypocrisy in public leadership and policy commentary. He recalled previous statements made by the senator on economic issues.
Sowore said, “He was saying that prices of goods and i was saying that this guy is has no integrity. I didn’t know the video will come out. Its very sad.” He accused the lawmaker of being disconnected from the everyday realities faced by Nigerians, particularly the poor. According to him, “This guys leave in ultimate universe and reality.”
Sowore referenced comments previously attributed to the senator on the cost of living, expressing disbelief at such remarks. He said, “Imagine somebody complaining that things are too cheap in Nigeria.”
He further criticized economic policies affecting low-income citizens, contrasting them with the private lifestyles of political leaders. Sowore stated, “Removing subsidies from the poor. They are subsidizing their libido.” He added emphatically, “That’s what it is.”
Sowore noted that the incident involving the senator was not isolated, suggesting similar conduct among political office holders. According to him, “And he’s not the only one. All of them are doing it.”
He suggested that the public exposure of the video may have resulted from a breakdown in discretion. He said, “It just happened that maybe this person didn’t act according to the agreement not to expose the video.”
Sowore further speculated that the senator may not have been aware that the interaction was being recorded. He stated, “Maybe the senator was not aware that he was being videotaped.”
Despite his criticism, Sowore made a remark on the senator’s demeanor in the video, which has also attracted attention online. He said, “But you have to give it to him that the way he handled the legs, that he has been in this business for a long time.” See_More…
