The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has vowed not to support Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s potential re-election bid in 2027, warning that another political mistake would lead to the burial of his political structure in the state.
Speaking from 1:11:34 during his visit to Okrika Local Government Area, Wike highlighted the finality of his political decisions. “We have taken a decision and no going back as far as Tinubu is concerned. And then about the governorship, there is no way we are going to support this one. If we make another mistake, they will bury us politically, and I will not allow myself to be buried. So everybody should understand that we have taken a decision, and it is for political survival,” he said in a media coverage by TVC.
The FCT Minister commended Hon. Linda Koroma Somiari, who represents Okrika Local Government in the State House of Assembly, for remaining loyal during the political crisis. “How you know people is when there is crisis, you know how strong they are. She stood firm and look at what she is doing in the state assembly. Continue to be firm and continue to show character. Leave those who don’t show character, they will pay for it in 2027,” he stated.
