Peter Obi has once again spoken about the challenges Nigeria faces and why the country must change its approach if it hopes to grow. Speaking at a book launch, he used the example of Singapore to show how serious nations focus on development instead of endless political struggles.
In a video from 9.05 shared by SYMFONI TV, he explained that Singapore started with almost nothing. The country had no natural resources and very limited land, yet it became one of the most successful nations in the world by focusing on service, planning, and progress. Today, Singapore even struggles to find land to expand its port and is investing huge amounts of money to build a new one under the sea. Despite these challenges, the country keeps moving forward.
Obi compared this with Nigeria, where leaders and politicians still spend a lot of time arguing about elections, fighting over power, and causing chaos. He said the nation cannot continue with violence, thuggery, and wasted opportunities while the world is advancing.
He also spoke directly to the Ogoni traditional leader, saying they deserve respect and should not be the ones begging for peace or attention. According to him, those who contributed to destroying the country’s progress should be the ones apologizing.
Obi added that Nigeria has everything it needs to succeed but keeps failing because time and resources are wasted. He said that if he ever gets the chance, he will personally apologize to Nigerians, especially young people.
In his words, “If I have the opportunity I will apologize to everybody for having wasted their time, in a country where everything is there.” View, More,
