Dele Fanimo, a public affairs analyst, has reacted to the resignation of Farouk Ahmed, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), stating that he does not believe Aliko Dangote had any involvement in the matter. He said the tendency to throw around accusations without evidence is becoming too common in Nigeria’s political space.

In an interview from 14:47 with VOICE OF THE PEOPLE TV, Fanimo referenced the widely publicized bribery case involving Femi Otedola and former lawmaker Farouk Lawan, emphasizing that the evidence in that case was undeniable. He said people are too quick to draw conclusions without facts, and that the current situation with Farouk Ahmed should not be hastily linked to Dangote without concrete proof.

Fanimo said he found the response from Farouk Ahmed amusing, especially given the weight of the evidence reportedly tied to the case. He warned against politicizing regulatory matters without verified information.

His words,

“I will not buy into the fact that Dangote was involved. Otedola was involved in Farouk Lawan’s case. The point is, a lot of appreciations are thrown around without concrete evidence. The evidence of Otedola against Farouk Lawan was too glaring; it couldn’t hide. When I saw the response of this another latest Farouk yesterday, I was just laughing, because he was actually captured with overwhelming evidence.” View, More,
