Renowned political pundit Sumner Sambo has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give careful thought to the current critique made by Labour Party leader Peter Obi about the President’s regularity of foreign travel.

In an interview from 5:48 with Arise News, Sambo presented Obi’s remarks as worthy of consideration in the national debate rather than as a political assault.

According to Sambo, public officials, particularly those in the highest positions of leadership, must be accountable and receptive to diverse perspectives. He emphasized that Obi’s observations should be seen through the lens of governance and accountability, rather than rivalry. Sambo made it clear in his remarks that constructive criticism is a crucial component of democracy and should not be assumed to be hostile.

During the interview, Sambo said, “I want Mr. President to give careful consideration to Peter Obi’s critique of foreign travel. ” He then stressed the motivation behind the statement, saying, “This was not something that was done out of bitterness; it was done in good faith. ” Sambo attempted to change the subject by emphasizing this, arguing that the discussion should concentrate on the core of the matter rather than the people involved.
