Peter Obi has challenged anyone in Anambra State to show where even one naira of public funds went missing during his eight-year tenure as governor. Speaking at the Symfoni event from 7:01, he stated that after 15 years since leaving office, all the state’s money remained intact and that he left ₦75 billion in the treasury.
Obi made this declaration while emphasizing that public money does not belong to individual officeholders and must be used for public good. He stated that changing Nigeria requires politicians to stop stealing public funds and to see their positions as opportunities for service rather than accumulation.
Peter Obi said: “I have been governor for 8 years. This is my 15th year of leaving Anambra state as governor. If anybody in Anambra state goes and tells you there’s a place that one naira is missing and they find it, I will stop campaigning. Their money was intact. What was remaining when I left? I left Anambra state ₦75 billion, it’s their money. It’s public money, doesn’t belong to me. We must stop stealing public money. Yes sir. Moses will change things here. Thank you. I know I’m taking more than my five minutes because Moses took 3 minutes, I added two of his own to my own. Thank you mothers.” See_More…
