Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), has spoken about the federal government’s efforts in addressing insecurity. He said President Bola Tinubu has taken more deliberate and effective steps to tackle insecurity than any administration since the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

In an interview from 22:07 with ARISE TV, He said that Tinubu’s administration has shown a stronger commitment to national security than his predecessors. He said the current government has demonstrated a clear strategy and urgency in confronting the country’s security challenges, which sets it apart from previous administrations.

Ajiboye recalled a diplomatic incident involving the United States during Donald Trump’s presidency could have escalated into a serious misunderstanding. He said Nigerian officials, through intelligent diplomacy, managed to shift the narrative, leading to a U.S. delegation visiting Nigeria. He said after conducting their own investigations, the delegation offered support, having realized the situation was not as initially perceived.

His words, “Which of the governments, ever since Jonathan, has addressed insecurity as much as Bola Tinubu has done? When Donald Trump made that statement, it took an intelligent, diplomatic handler to tweak that statement from a catastrophe point to a point of negotiation, to the extent that they received our delegation. We discussed, we enlightened them on what they probably did not know that it’s not about Christian genocide.” See More
