One of the chieftains of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu has reacted to the comment that Labour Party, LP, chieftain, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed made about Atiku Abubakar.
The reaction of Dele Momodu was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Friday, January 9, 2026.
In the post that surfaced online, the Labour Party, LP, chieftain stated that Atiku Abubakar has been contesting since he was doing his NYSC. He said Atiku Abubakar should allow new generation of Nigerian leaders to take charge.
Here is what Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed said;
“When I was doing my NYSC, Atiku was an aspirant. In 2018, we contested the primaries together and in 2023, we contested again. And, for God’s sake, in 2027 again. There is a need for a new generation of Nigerian leaders and they do exist”.
However, Dele Momodu has now shared his thoughts on the statement that was made by Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed. In the post that he shared on his official X handle, he said Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed should appreciate Atiku’s doggednes.

“If you admit that Atiku is more formidable and comes from the regions where the votes are more voluminous, and has consistently built his structures since when you were still in school, why can’t you appreciate, imbibe, and support his doggedness”. See More
