Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that when he was growing up, there were fewer facilities but more opportunities for young people.

In an interview from 17:30 on the Youth Engage Programme, Obasanjo said that at the time he was preparing to go to university, there was only one university in Nigeria. He said that today, there are more than 150 universities across the country

Obasanjo said that after leaving secondary school, he received appointment offers from five different places. He explained that in today’s situation, even someone who graduates from a university with a PhD would consider themselves lucky to receive just two job offers.
