In a video shared on Facebook from 10:53, prominent Kalabari leader Asari Dokubo weighed in on the recent confrontation between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Navy officer A.M. Yerima. Dokubo noted that many Nigerians are commending Yerima for his courage but challenged the officer to demonstrate real bravery by taking the fight to Sambisa Forest and confronting terrorists directly.
He further criticized Yerima for using his military position to block a serving government minister from accessing a location, questioning whether guarding private property falls within the officer’s official duties. Dokubo emphasized that military personnel are meant to focus on national security and insurgency operations rather than personal or private interests.
According to him, “When I talk about Wike, a serving minister in the government, who has the power of a governor, goes to a place and a military officer, because he is wearing a military uniform, comes out and stops him from having access, and people are applauding that as courage.
