Chief Anabs Sara Igbe has strongly criticised the impeachment notice issued by the Martins Amaewhule–led Rivers State House of Assembly against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu. Speaking during an interview, Sara Igbe questioned why the deputy governor was included at all, asking the Assembly to clearly explain her offence.

In a video from 5.09 shared by SYMFONI TV, according to him, while the Assembly has accused the governor of wrongdoing, no clear allegation has been made against the deputy governor. He described this as unfair and unacceptable, especially to the people of Rivers State who deserve transparency and truth from their leaders.

Sara Igbe also condemned what he described as disrespectful treatment of Professor Odu by the Speaker, Martins Amaewhule. He reminded Amaewhule that the deputy governor is an elder and a highly accomplished public servant who served Rivers State for many years as a Permanent Secretary and Director long before Amaewhule rose to political prominence.

He stressed that age, experience, and public service should command respect, regardless of political disagreements. In his view, insulting or undermining elders in leadership positions amounts to disrespect not just to individuals, but to an entire generation.

Sara Igbe warned that Rivers people would not accept actions that appear to humiliate elders or abuse power.

In his words, “This is a woman who can be your mother, who can lecture, when she was permanent secretary, you were nobody, when she was director, you were nobody. And now she’s deputy governor, you feel you can insult her because you’re the speaker.” See_More…
