The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has reacted after an X user claimed that no television station or newspaper in Turkey reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fell.
The reaction of Abike Dabiri-Erewa was contained in a post that she shared on her official X handle on January 28, 20026.
This is coming after Vanguard reported that the President of Nigeria missed his step and fell while walking with the President of Turkey, Recep Erdogan.
In the post that the X user shared on his page, he said the incident was only reported by TV stations and newspaper outlets in Nigeria.
He wrote;
“Not a single Turkish television station reported the President’s accidental slip because it’s a non issue”.
However, Abike Dabiri has now shared her thoughts after the post surfaced online. In a statement that she shared on her page, she said Turkish officials were shocked to learn that the incident was an issue in Nigeria.

“Exactly. On ground here in Ankara, their officials were shocked to learn that it was an issue in Nigerrian media and blogs. One of them described it as silly and mischievous and reiterated how their country was excited about the incredible success of the visit by Bola Ahmed Tinubu which is all over their media here”.
