Chief Chris Nkwonta, the lawmaker representing Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal Constituency in Abia State, has declared that the state is fully aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and will deliver 100 percent of its votes to the party in the next general election.

According to report by PM NEWS on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Nkwonta praised the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for what he described as an unprecedented level of performance. He noted that in less than three years, Kalu had executed 58 projects and sponsored over 100 bills, with more than 20 already signed into law by the President.

Nkwonta contrasted Kalu’s achievements with those of a former top-ranking official from the same constituency, stating that despite holding a powerful national position, the former leader left little impact. He emphasized that Kalu’s record is a testament to his integrity and dedication to public service.

The lawmaker dismissed any talk of political alliances in Abia, insisting that the state is solidly behind the APC and that any suggestion of the party securing only a fraction of the votes is misleading.

Nkwonta stated, “Abia will deliver 100 per cent of the votes to APC.There is no need for alliances. Abia is APC, and APC is Abia.
