According to a report by Punch Newspaper on December 8, 2025, United States Congressman Riley Moore declared that substantial work remains to address Nigeria’s escalating security challenges.
Following a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, he highlighted persistent terrorism in the North-East and the continuing deadly attacks in the Middle Belt region.
Moore stated that the discussions centered on the widespread terrorism ravaging the North-East and the relentless killings occurring in the Middle Belt, issues he identified as particular priorities for both President Donald Trump and himself.
He emphasized that these matters demand urgent and decisive action from all stakeholders.
During the talks, the American delegation and Nigerian authorities explored specific, practical measures designed to strengthen national security.
Moore expressed confidence that full implementation of these agreed steps would significantly improve safety throughout Nigeria, dismantle terrorist networks operating in the North-East, and put an end to the targeted killing of Christians, especially in the Middle Belt, an outcome he described as a top concern shared with President Trump.
He stressed that thorough execution of the proposed actions would disrupt and ultimately destroy terrorist organizations while protecting vulnerable communities across the country, regardless of faith or location.
In a separate note of appreciation, Congressman Moore thanked the Nigerian government and President Bola Tinubu for successfully rescuing one hundred abducted Catholic schoolchildren.
He praised the operation as clear evidence of the administration’s growing effectiveness in tackling insecurity and its firm commitment to the national emergency declaration issued by President Tinubu. View, More,
