Dele Farotimi, a renowned human rights activist and legal expert has taken to his official X handle to react after the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike was captured in front of large number of microphones given explanations regarding the controversial confrontation with a young military personnel. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the evidence was available to the public.
The former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently took center stage once again after he held a press briefing, explaining in details the confrontation with a young military officer which had grown to become a national discourse.
The press briefing and the statements made, however, garnered widespread traction across various social media platforms, drawing mixed reactions from different quarters, including from Dele Farotimi, a renowned human rights activist and lawyer.
It can be recalled that the former governor of Rivers State and a young soldier identified as Yerima had been involved in a heated verbal exchange, with tensions reaching alarming heights.
However, after the incident, the FCT minister during the press briefing, explained why the young soldier and those who sent him acted wrongly. He further disclosed that he never abused the young man.
