Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Plateau State has recounted an account of one of the deadliest attacks in the state, where hundreds of residents were reportedly massacred overnight.

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV from 7:14, the clergyman said he personally visited the scene of the tragedy hours after the attackers had fled.

“That is why in one night, look at it, 501 people were killed completely in one night. I was there in the morning after the insurgent left,” Reverend Dachomo said.

According to the COCIN leader, the massacre occurred when armed insurgents stormed a cluster of communities in a coordinated night assault, leaving behind widespread devastation. He explained that the scale of the killings was unlike anything he had witnessed in years of violence across Plateau State, noting that entire families were wiped out in the attack.

Reverend Dachomo lamented the continued insecurity in Plateau and other parts of northern Nigeria, accusing authorities of failing to protect innocent citizens. He described the killings as a reflection of Nigeria’s deepening humanitarian crisis and urged the government to act swiftly to end what he termed “systematic annihilation” of indigenous communities.

He further called for proper documentation of victims and accountability for those behind the violence, insisting that justice and security were essential for lasting peace. “We cannot remain silent when entire communities are erased in one night,” he said. View, More,
