Lai Mohammed, a former minister of information, has stated that late President Muhammadu Buhari once made a joke about him after their plane hit turbulence in 2015.
In an interview from 2:06 on State Affairs show with Edmund Obilo, Mohammed said they were flying from Makurdi to Abuja after a campaign when the plane encountered very rough weather and was being tossed around, causing everyone on board to panic.
Mohammed said Buhari, however, remained calm throughout the frightening moment. He said, “We ran into a very rough weather, I think it was a flight from Makurdi to Abuja after a campaign in 2015, and everybody panicked because we were being tossed, the plane was being tossed and Buhari remained calm”.
Mohammed said after they landed safely, some members of the campaign team asked Buhari why he was the only one who did not panic. He said Buhari in his reply said, “I did not panic because I know that with Lai Mohammed on this plane the plane will not crash, you know the man does not eat, he fasts everyday'” See More
